Report an Inspection
This task records inspection information for one or more pieces of equipment in Umler. The Company Administrator controls each user’s access to report inspections on equipment in the Umler system. The user reporting the inspections must have “Umler Access for Maintenance” permissions and must be granted Inspection Rights in Umler.
Steps to Report an Inspection
- From the Umler menu bar, select “Maintenance > Inspections”.
- Select the inspection type you want to report from the list.
- Enter values in all required fields.
- Enter “Equipment ID(s)” as comma‑separated values, ranges, or both.
- Select a value in the first row and select “Copy Down” to copy it to all rows.
- Select “Inspection Reporter” from the drop‑down.
- Only the Stenciled Mark Owner or Inspection Performer can report an inspection. Select a mark from the drop down. If there is nothing available then you need Inspection Rights access. Speak with your company administrator.
- Select “Inspection Performer” for the company that performed the inspection.
- This value must be the mark for the company who performed the inspection.
- Enter “Inspection Date Done” within allowed date limits.
- Enter “Location/SPLC” or use the SPLC search.
- Select “Validate”.
- After you receive the green “Validation Succeeded” message, select “Submit”.
