The Company Administrator controls each user’s access to add, modify, or delete equipment in the Umler system. The user managing the equipment must have “Umler Access for Maintenance” and must be granted Equipment Rights in Umler.
Modify a Single Piece of Equipment
Use this procedure to update data for one equipment ID in Umler.
Steps to Modify a Single Piece of Equipment
- From the Umler menu bar, select "Maintenance > Add/Change/Delete > Modify Single Equipment".
- Enter one Equipment ID and select "Modify".
- Update the equipment data as needed.
- Select "Suspend" to save work without submitting. Resume later from "Maintenance > Suspended Work". - Click "Validate" to confirm mandatory data and business rules.
- After receiving the green Validation Succeeded message, click "Submit".
Modify Multiple Pieces of Equipment
Use this procedure to update the same set of elements for multiple equipment IDs.
Steps to Modify Multiple Equipment
- From the Umler menu bar, select "Maintenance > Add/Change/Delete > Modify Multiple Equipment".
- Enter one or more Equipment ID(s).
- Use comma-separated IDs, ranges with a hyphen, or a combination (example: RAIL401, RAIL404, RAIL500–RAIL599). - Click "Validate".
- In "Available Elements", highlight an element and click the right arrow or double‑click it to move it to "Selected Elements".
- Click "Submit".
- In the data table, modify values as needed.
- To auto‑populate many rows, enter a value in the top row and click the copy button. - If modifying fewer than 50 units, click "Validate" and correct any errors.
- Click "Submit" to start processing.
