1. What is the ISA Repository?
The ISA Repository is a web‑based application that helps railroads create, approve, view, and archive Interline Service Agreements (ISAs). It stores details such as interchange frequency, times, train length, and locations.
2. Who can create an ISA?
Users with the “ISA Creator” role can create ISAs. This role provides access to “Home”, “Create ISA”, “View ISAs”, “Export ISAs (csv)”, “Contact Management”, and “Documentation”.
3. Who can view ISAs?
Users with the “ISA Viewer” role can view ISAs for the road(s) they are associated with. They cannot make changes or export information.
4. Can a partner railroad approve an ISA without logging in?
Yes. A partner railroad can approve or reject the ISA via email by selecting the “Approve” or “Reject” link in the message.
5. What happens if the partner railroad does not respond to the ISA email?
If no response is received within 30 days, the ISA is automatically accepted and both parties receive a notification.
6. How do I save an ISA without submitting it?
Select “Save ISA As Draft” on any Create ISA tab. The ISA will appear with a status of “Draft”.
7. Can draft ISAs be edited?
Yes. Select a draft ISA and choose “Edit ISA”. You can update any fields in the ISA before submission.
8. What fields are required to create a new contact?
A contact requires “First Name”, “Last Name”, and “Email”. All other fields are optional.
9. Can I add contacts without creating a new one?
Yes. Select “Add Contact”, search using the “Railroad”, “Role”, or other fields, then choose an existing contact.
10. Can I delete a contact that has a primary mark?
Only if you are logged in with the same mark as the contact’s “Primary Mark”. Otherwise, the contact cannot be deleted.
11. Can I archive an existing ISA?
Yes. On the ISA details page, select “Archive ISA”, then “OK” to confirm. Archived ISAs cannot be made active again but can be cloned.
12. What statuses can ISAs have?
ISAs can be Active, Draft, Pending, Rejected, or Archived, depending on approval and workflow progress.
13. How do I download an ISA?
Open the ISA details page and select “Download PDF” to download it as a PDF file.
14. How do I export all active ISAs?
Select “Export ISAs (csv)” from the menu. A CSV file of all Active ISAs for the selected mark automatically downloads.
15. Where can I download the latest ISA User Guide or CSV templates?
Select “Documentation”, then choose “User Guide”, “Export (csv) Template/Example”, or “Export (csv) File Layout”. Files download automatically.
