Demurrage Module – FAQ
What is the Demurrage module?
The Demurrage module is an addon to the TransmetriQ Platform that lets users with shipment data access track demurrage activity and terminal operations for their configured terminal locations.
How do I access my terminals?
Select “Demurrage” from the left navigation menu. The page displays tiles for all terminals configured for your company.
What information can I see for each terminal?
You can view status percentages on the terminal tile and open four detailed tabs: “Demurrage Details”, “Private Car Storage Details”, “Daily Summary”, and “Daily Details”.
What is shown on the Demurrage Details tab?
This tab displays processing information for railroadcontrolled equipment, including Arrived, Placed, Released, Credit, Days, and Demurrage Estimate.
What is shown on the Private Car Storage Details tab?
This tab displays processing information for privatelycontrolled equipment, including Constructive Placement, Actual Placement, Credit, Days, and Private Car Storage Estimate.
What can I do with the data tables on each tab?
You can use “Keyword Search”, filter columns, sort columns, adjust the “Date Range Options”, and export data using “Download”.
What does the “Accrued Estimate” toggle do?
When enabled, it shows cost estimates based on currently accrued days. It appears on the Demurrage Details and Private Car Storage Details tabs.
What information is included in the Daily Summary tab?
It provides day-by-day counts of operational events such as Initial Count, Arrived, Placed, Released (Before Cutoff), Released (After Cutoff), and Capacity.
What information is included in the Daily Details tab?
It lists detailed daily events per equipment, including Event Time, Event Description, Event Category, and equipment identifiers.
Can I view the history of one specific piece of equipment?
Yes. Copy the Equipment ID from the table, paste it into “Keyword Search”, and sort by Equipment ID and Date to view a chronological sequence.
What is the Terminal Pipeline?
The Terminal Pipeline shows real-time counts of equipment In Transit, Arrived At Final, Constr. Placement, Actual Placement, and Released for configured terminals.
Can I download Terminal Pipeline data?
Yes. Select “Download” and choose “CSV” or “Excel”.
What is a Pipeline Report?
A Pipeline Report is a scheduled snapshot of the Terminal Pipeline sent by email at chosen times and frequencies.
How do I schedule a Pipeline Report?
In “Terminal Pipeline”, open “Schedule”, select “Add Scheduled Report”, enter a name, choose a frequency, set date ranges, choose file type and export options, add email recipients, select terminals, and select “Create”.
How do I edit or delete a scheduled Pipeline Report?
Open “Schedule”, select “Edit Scheduled Report”, choose a report, then update fields or use the delete icon to remove it.
What is the Demurrage Summary?
The Demurrage Summary provides an overview of activity for all terminals, including Constr. Placement, Actual Placement, Released, Credit Days, Total Days, and Demurrage Estimate.
Can I expand rows in the Demurrage Summary?
Yes. You can select the caret icon next to a terminal to show demurrage and private car storage values.
Can I download the Demurrage Summary?
Yes. Select “Download” at the top right.
How do I add a new terminal?
Select “Add Terminal”, complete fields such as Terminal Name, Terminal Location, Terminal Serving Road, Terminal Capacity, Service Days, Industry Cutoff Time, and event types, then select “Create Terminal”.
What event types can I choose when configuring a terminal?
Events include 6005 – Arrived at Final Destination, 6006 – Arrival Intransit, 6007 – Placement Actual, 6009 – Placement Constructive, 6012 – Placed on Leased Track – To, and 6022 – Placed on Leased Track – From.
What options exist for free days and rates?
You can configure Demurrage Rate, Currency, Number of Free Days Empty, Number of Free Days Loaded, and optionally separate private car storage rates and free days.
What is party information used for?
If enabled, Party Information allows you to include or exclude certain parties and their shipments by specifying Include/Exclude, Party Names, and Party Types.
How do I modify an existing terminal?
Select the vertical ellipsis on a terminal tile, choose “Edit”, update fields, and select “Update Terminal”.
How do I download terminal data from multiple tabs?
On “Demurrage Details”, use the vertical ellipsis, select “Download”, choose tabs, date range, file type, and download options, then select “Download”.
How do I delete a terminal?
Select the vertical ellipsis on a terminal tile, choose “Delete”, then select “Delete” again to confirm.
