What is Rail Document Interchange (RDI)?
Rail Document Interchange (RDI) is the central repository for all documentation required to safely travel on foreign tracks. The purpose of RDI is to centralize the storage of safety documentation for the Rail Industry while providing timely and accurate exchange of safety rule documents between interline partners to increase the safety of train crew members.
What kinds of documents are stored in RDI?
RDI stores safety operating rules documents, including system-wide and location-specific safety documents.
Who can upload documents?
Users representing a carrier can upload documents into folders owned by their carrier.
What is a subscription?
A subscription is a configuration that automatically notifies your carrier when another carrier updates specific safety documents.
How many subscriptions can I have per carrier?
You can have only one subscription per carrier.
How do I view new documents?
Select “Home” and open the “New Documents” tab.
How do I subscribe to a document?
Use the Subscribe icon from Home, Search, or create a full subscription under “Subscriptions > Create New Subscription.”
How do I manage existing subscriptions?
Select “Subscriptions > Manage Active Subscription” to edit, delete, expand, or sync a subscription.
How do I download subscriber lists?
Select the Download Subscribers icon in a folder you own under “Manage.”
Can I have access to multiple MARKs under my user ID?
No, at this time, you can only have permissions for one mark per user ID.
