Associate a Component to Equipment
Use this task to associate a registered component to a specific piece of equipment. The Company Administrator controls user access to register and associate components to equipment in Component Tracking. To associate components, you must have “Umler Access for Query” and “Component Maintenance Access.”
Steps to Associate a Component to Equipment
- Sign in to “Launch Pad” and open “Umler”.
- From the menu bar, select “Component Registry” > “Associate Component”.
- Enter the “Equipment ID” and select “Search”.
- Select a “Component Type” from the drop-down list.
- Enter all required fields.
- Select the checkbox beside the position where the component has been applied.
- Enter the “AAR Component ID”.
- If the ID is unknown, select the lookup icon to open the Component Search panel.
- Enter the three required fields and select “Search”.
- Select the checkbox next to the component and choose “Select”.
- If no component is found, register it using the Component Tracking Register a New Component Quick Guide.
- If the ID is unknown, select the lookup icon to open the Component Search panel.
- Select the date applied using the calendar icon. Enter the performer mark. Use the SPLC icon to search for an SPLC or enter the nine‑digit SPLC. Add additional component rows as needed.
- When entries are complete and checkboxes selected, choose “Associate”.
- If the component is under recall, review the “Component Details” message. Select “Cancel” to choose a different component or select “OK” to continue.
- If the component is associated to another equipment ID, review the “Component Details” message. Select “Cancel” to choose a different component or select “OK” to continue.
- If no warnings appear, the Associate Component tab refreshes with a success message.
