Registering a New Component
This procedure adds a new component in Component Tracking. The Company Administrator controls user access to add, register, and associate components to equipment in Component Tracking. To add a new component, you must have “Umler Access for Query” and “Component Maintenance Access.”
Steps to Add a New Component
- In Umler, open "Component Registry > Registration".
- Select the "Add New" tab.
- The "Component Code" defaults to your company. Select another code if needed. - Enter the "Component ID Number" (up to 10 digits).
- Select the "Component Type" from the drop‑down list.
- Select "Add".
- The "Base Elements" section appears.
- Elements with a red dot or an asterisk are mandatory.
- Use the calendar icon for date fields and drop‑down lists when available.
- Select the element code link (for example, C010) to view element help. - Enter all required fields for the selected component type.
- Use the trademark lookup icon to select the "Foundry Facility Code". - Select "Save".
- A red message displays if errors exist. Correct the errors and select "Save" again.
- A green message confirms a successful save. - To add another component, select "Add New".
- To edit the current component, select "Edit".
