This function is only available for the Embargo Officer and the OPSL Note Officer role. 

How to Use the EDI 824 Viewer

This task explains how to search for EDI 824 messages, view details, export results, and print message content.

Steps to Use the EDI 824 Viewer

  1. In “AAR Embargo/OPSL Permit System”, select “Tools” > “EDI 824 Viewer”
  2. Enter search criteria
  3. Select “Search”
  4. Scroll through the results
    - Select “Export as CSV” to download the results
  5. In the “824 Content” column, select “View” to open the EDI 824 and EDI 417 messages
  6. To print, scroll to the bottom and select “Print”
  7. Select “Close” to exit the window

Check Error Codes

This task explains how to identify error codes within an EDI 824 and how to view error code descriptions.

Steps to Check Error Codes

  1. In “AAR Embargo/OPSL Permit System”, select “Tools” > “EDI 824 Viewer”
  2. Enter search criteria
  3. Select “Search”
  4. In the “EDI 824 Viewer” results, select “View” in the “824 Content” column
  5. Locate error codes that begin with LQ
  6. Find the impacted embargo on the next line that begins with RED
  7. To view error code descriptions, select “Tools” > “View EDI 824 Error Codes”
